Tim Venvell MA (Cantab), ARCO

Tim has been conducting choirs since the age of 15. As an undergraduate organ scholar at St Catharine’s College, Cambridge (1977-1980), he directed the chapel choir in his 2nd and 3rd years. During this time he co-organised a week’s singing at Wells (1979) and Ripon (1980) Cathedrals setting a pattern for the years since.

His irrepressible enthusiasm has inspired countless young people to achieve their musical best, through his 26-year tenure as Director of Music at the Royal Grammar School, High Wycombe and earlier teaching appointments. He co-founded the Voice Bucks Youth Choir, and the Chiltern Music Academy where he is still to be seen with the youth choir.

For adults, Tim founded the Chantry Singers in 1983 and Wycombe Chamber Choir in 2018. The latter he still directs in addition to Ex Collegio.
